WHY AM I NOT RECEIVING UPDATES, ALERTS THROUGH SMS LATELY?
A while ago, the DND (Do Not Disturb) service was initiated and few numbers nationwide were subscribed into the DND list (without the subscriber’s consent) especially MTN networks.
If you have stopped receiving bulk sms notifications from your company, banks, religious groups, school (Kid’s), online transactions or social group alerts, then its likely your number has been subscribed for the DND service.
Text STOP to 2442 on the affected phone. Then Text ALLOW to 2442 to deactivate or unsubscribe from the DND service.
Do a test to that phone number. Once you get the SMS, then it worked!
In case no positive response, simply remove your battery and SIM card for 10 seconds and restart phone and text STOP to 2442 , then after some minutes, text ALLOW to 2442. Your phone will be receiving bulk sms afterwards.
